How to Add Tilt And Trim To An Outboard?

Step 1: The first step is to double-check if the trailer is equipped with a motor engine. Then trim until the engine of the boat is pretty much even. It shouldn’t be raised high. Because in that way the oil you have inside the trim can go low. 

Step 2: Remove the fill screw in the second step. Take a big flat head screwdriver. It will be easier for you to use a larger screwdriver. You won’t want it to be damaged. Remove the fill screw by pushing the screwdriver hard. 

After you removed the fill screw, now start to fill the oil. Fill it until you can see it is pretty much leveled off. Make sure you don’t put the screw cap back in the way that bleeds air out of it. 

Lift it all the way you could if you have a safety clip. After that, reapply the oil. Repeat this process four to five times more. You have lifted the engine and put it down about five times. Now put the screw back in.

Be careful when you do it. Make sure it’s in the appropriate spot. Tighten it using the screwdriver. Once you screw it back on, walk through to check. Lower the engine and lift it all the way back up.
